Thrustmaster sells the Sol-R 4 as a HOTAS set, pairing the Sol-R grip and base with a separate throttle for up to 58 assignable actions. The grip carries 21 buttons, including two triggers (one dual-position), two hat switches, a ministick and a thumbwheel; movement runs on three axes (X, Y, Z) with H.E.A.R.T. (HallEffect AccuRate Technology) sensors at 16-bit precision, on a mechanism the maker says generates linear resistance in all directions. The base adds four switches, eight pads derived from DJ controllers, a mini-throttle, a selector and a rotary knob, with individually customisable RGB LEDs. The throttle runs on the maker's S.M.A.R.T. (Sliding Motion Advanced Rail Tracks) system over 3.1 in / 80 mm of travel, with four selectable detent settings: none, 50% afterburner, 80% afterburner, or dual-detent. The grip detaches onto an AVA base, the Sol-R base accepts Viper and Hornet grips, and the set pairs with the external TFRP rudder pedals, all sold separately. The maker lists the stick at 1270 g and the throttle at 665 g.
