The TPR's argument is its mechanism. Instead of the sliding rails used on cheaper sets, Thrustmaster suspends the pedals from above on what it calls PENDUL_R, a pendular assembly the maker credits for smooth travel and accuracy on small corrections. Sensing is H.E.A.R.T. (HallEffect AccuRate Technology, U.S. patent US08471815) using 3D Hall effect magnets across three axes: rudder, left differential brake and right differential brake. Thrustmaster quotes 16-bit resolution at 65,536 values per axis and 0.005 degrees of precision, and notes the magnets are frictionless and should not drift with age. Spring positions are adjustable for resistance, with two springs included, and the pedals set into five positions between 35 and 75 degrees. It runs under a desk or mounted in a cockpit. The maker lists it at 45.6 x 33.6 x 41.5 cm and 7 kg / 15.4 lb, with the two metal differential brake pedals attached by the user, and cites PC compatibility with DCS, X-Plane 11 and 12, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020, Star Citizen, Elite Dangerous and War Thunder.
