VKB specifies two contactless MaRS (Magnetic angle sensor) sensors driving the X and Y axes, plus a lockable twist adapter carrying its own contactless sensor for the Z (rudder) axis. The base is a "smooth gimbal with ball bearings," with an auto-centring 3-position switch, a throttle wheel, a rotary encoder and three programmable base buttons on an adjustable dry clutch. The base is built from what VKB calls "durable industrial-grade ABS," run by a 32-bit ARM controller.
The unit ships with a choice of two grips: the SCG Standard, with one dual-action trigger, three four-way hats with centre push and four programmable buttons; or the SCG Premium, which adds a rapid-fire trigger and an eight-way analog mini-stick with centre push. VKB states a two-year warranty.
